When I opened the Garforth shop nearly a decade ago, there was no other butcher on the high street, where in the past there had been four. This was of course a good business opportunity, but also a chance to be part of a thriving local community that deserved a traditional, high quality, family butchers, with good access to the shop for all ages. 
After the success of the Garforth shop the Boston Spa high street shop opened in 2007. I’ve been in the butchery trade since 1977 since leaving school in Leeds and my sons Ross and Lewis both work in the business. Both are fully trained butchers and Ross is also a qualified chef. He runs the Boston Spa shop. Both have food hygiene accreditations from Thomas Danby College in Leeds. 
Dominic runs the production department and has worked for us for 25 years – he sources all our meat locally, dealing with wholesalers to find the best local produce at the most competitive rates to pass onto our customers. 
Andrew Firth my brother, oversees the bakery at our Boston Spa shop and our cooked meat produce. 
Helen Firth my wife works in both shops across the week and will be a familiar face to our customers. 
There’s no doubt we’re a traditional family business and we like to look on our customers as an extension of our family as after all, without our customers we wouldn’t be here.
